Just a quick comment on the power of the blogosphere versus the mainstream media.

Our coverage with TechCrunch delivered far more 'net buzz than the coverage we got from MSNBC: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/13718916/
My simple conclusion is that for most "news" items, the mainstream media is less powerful in generating buzz than the blogosphere. Unless you're business is related to invading foreign countries or sloganeering with a whole lot of mindless surrogates (...think flag burning or 'cut and run'), you're much better off reaching out to influential bloggers than the local CBS affiliate.
The new media is not Fox News (... did you read about their drop in the ratings amongst their core demographic target?), it's fauxnews, huffingtonpost, dailykos, techcrunch, boingboing or even yourselfandwhoeverelseyouwanttobe.typepad.com!
I know a lot of media organizations know this already... they're really in trouble.
